Gran Canaria Coworking Coliving is an amazing experience for any traveler or digital nomad. Las Palmas, the city located in the very northeast of the Gran Canaria island is an ideal location for its ease of getting around and walk-ability, tons of restaurants and shops, community and athletic activities, good weather and overall a ton of fun things to most days and nights of the week. One month here was a good amount of time to get a feel for coworking and coliving spaces, some top restaurant choices, daily life, beach activities and even a Bhangra Class (Indian Dance).
CoWorking Gran Canaria – Las Palmas
I checked out two main coworking spaces while in Las Palmas, Restation (http://restation.co) and CoWorkingC (http://coworkingc.com), both of which also have coliving spaces for rent. CoWorking C is the larger and more modern of the two, with multiple floors, outlets and strong WiFi. The owner, Nacho, is a great guy, who is around and involved, and very active in the digital nomad community worldwide. For a modern and high efficiency work set up, you can’t beat CoWorkingC.
Restation is a smaller coworking room with a few irregularities (like washing dishes in the bathroom), but the real appeal of Restation is the community. No one does community better than Maria, the owner, who organizes events almost every day of the week: mastermind sessions, weekly coffee club and guest speakers, breakfast goals, speed networking and dozens more. The events are open to anyone on the island, so you’ll easily meet 30-50 new people in your first week here if you attend even some of the events. Even better – a gift from Restation – use code ILOVERST2 for $25 off your coliving or coworking stay (that’s almost one night free).

Coliving Digital Nomad Housing Las Palmas
CoWorking C offers two coliving spaces, named based on the key highlight of each house: The Roof (Calle Lope de Vega, 6) and The Pool (Calle Rafael Dávila, 3) Both houses are large, clean and modern with huge kitchens and washers and dryers. Choices include shared and private bath, all rooms are doubles and there are discounts for 2 people sharing a room. Each house offers a weekly BBQ get together for the two houses to interact. The only downside is that both houses are a bit off the beaten path and a further walk to shops, markets and Las Canteras beach, home of all the action, nightlife and restaurants.
Restation has 3 coliving houses (Miller, Viriato and Raymond), all of which are in great locations, just blocks from both the beach and the coworking. There are lots of markets on our block and easily 50 restaurants within a 15 minute walk, most of which are on the beach. Restation coliving is a bit of a challenge if I’m being honest. Now, I’m one of the first to live in the newest coliving space, Miller, which is not quite at 100% yet, so I understand there are issues to work through. As I write this, I’m struggling with the internet fresh from another cold shower. For me personally, internet and hot water are not optional items, I expect them to be included in the coliving fee. Maria has been wonderful about trying to fix things but I have several roommates dealing with these and other issues for 3+ weeks. I hope they are all fixed soon.

Gran Canaria Things to Do and Ways to Meet People
Within my first week of arriving in Las Palmas, I met probably 50 people, a combination of locals, ex-pats and other digital nomads. I don’t think I’ve been to any location where there activities, networking opportunities and generally, just a lot to do. Speed networking, pitch night, coffee club meet and greet tapas, sunset yoga on the beach, weekly beach volleyball, language exchange and drinks and so many more choices. Some of these are generated by the top coworking-coliving organizations but many others are meetups and facebook groups.
Sunset Yoga with Jackie’s Yoga Las Palmas
You’ll definitely want to take an amazing outdoor Yoga class with Jackie (a fellow New Yorker) who offers a class for any level of Yogi. She incorporates the surroundings so well as almost all the moves either face the mountains or the ocean. If you have to hold your focus for an eagle pose, it’s hard to choose!

Coffee Club with Restation Tribe Las Palmas
Every Friday around 5pm, Restation hosts a social networking event usually accompanied by an informative guest speaker. The name of the meet up is a bit misleading as most people are starting their Friday night here and it is most definitely not with coffee. The invites are open to anyone and people from all walks of life show up and mingle.

Try Canyoning!
What is Canyoning? It’s hiking, rock climbing, repelling (abseiling in Europe, repelling in America), swimming and cliff jumping all rolled into one. And I have to say, it was one of the best adventure sport days I’ve ever had. Victor is a total pro, having guided these groups 5 days a week for the last 18 years. The adrenaline was pumping most of the day and this is not for the faint hearted. Highly recommend canyoning with Mojo Picon for around 50 euros. https://www.facebook.com/MojoPiconInfo/
